Meet the Guides
Jen
Jen is the Manager of Matagarup Zip + Climb and Mini Golf. With 20 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for tourism to everything she does. Though she can't sing or dance, Jen loves to joke about it, always wishing she could hit the high notes or bust a move on the dance floor! In her spare time, she teaches tourism at TAFE, sharing her expertise with the next generation, while also being a proud dog mum to two energetic pups.
Ale'
Ale is a proud Brazilian who has called Australia home for the past 11 years. Now living in Perth, he’s building a fulfilling life with his beautiful wife and their two young children, and takes great pride in being an involved, loving father. A true travel enthusiast, Ale often books his next trip before finishing the first and is always on the lookout for the next spicy dish to try. Balancing family life with his role as Duty Manager at Matagarup Zip + Climb and Mini Golf, he brings together his leadership skills and passion for adventure.
Emma
Emma moved back to Perth from New Zealand at the beginning of 2024 with a range of experience in the outdoor field from working within adventure school camps. Emma loves coffee, Coogee beach, handstands and making bad jokes. A favourite: ‘What do you call a cow with no legs?… Ground beef’ *insert crickets* When she’s not leading unforgettable tours, Emma is the lady behind the lens for our social media platform!
Maire
Meet Maire! She's originally from the picturesque countryside of Galway, Ireland. After making the move to Australia a year ago, she’s quickly embraced the adventure-filled lifestyle of her new home. With a deep passion for cycling and strumming her guitar, Maire brings an energetic, outdoorsy spirit to everything she does. Whether it’s exploring the scenic bike trails or enjoying live music, she’s always up for a new challenge. Maire is excited to be part of the Matagarup Zip + Climb team, where her love for adventure and connection with people shines through in every experience.
Dylan
Dylan, originally from New Zealand, has been an integral part of the Matagarup Zip+Climb team for the past three years, taking on a variety of roles. Known for his sharp sense of humour and love of good conversation, he brings energy and enthusiasm to every climb. After 10 years in hospitality management, Dylan transitioned to tourism in search of new challenges and experiences. When he’s not guiding guests up the bridge, he’s busy studying to pursue a career in the health sector.
Eron
Eron is a proud country Queenslander who brings her infectious energy and adventurous spirit to her role as a tour guide. After spending 8 months traveling across Europe and Asia, she’s back with a wealth of stories and a passion for sharing exciting experiences with others. When she’s not guiding, Eron is a skilled hairdresser and can often be found riding her beloved bike, Coco, gardening, or working on her goal of getting better at walking on her hands. She’s been a valued member of our team for over a year, and now that she’s back, she’s ready to add fun and warmth to every tour!
Jorja
Jorja is an adventurous and experienced team member who has been with us since April 2023. With a background in tour guiding, she brings both professionalism and a passion for adventure to her work. Growing up in a large family, Jorja developed a love for the outdoors early on. She’s an avid scuba diver and enjoys spending her free time on long hikes and always seeking new landscapes to explore on both land and sea.
Stacie
Stacie has come over from Victoria and has extensive experience working for four different zipline companies. Her passion for adventure extends beyond her professional life, as she enjoys traveling, camping, and cooking in her free time. Currently, she is focused on advancing her skills by working toward her roping certifications. Stacie's diverse interests and dedication to her craft make her a well-rounded and driven individual.
Dan
Dan is an adventurous guy with a unique mix of interests and experiences. He dabbles in a bit of travel, including a year and a half in Whistler, where he worked on multiple ziplines and embraced the outdoor lifestyle. When he’s not riding his Vespa, he’s likely mountain biking, rock climbing, practicing jiu-jitsu, or relaxing in a sauna. Dan is the man 🤙
Wubi
Wubi was born in Ethiopia and raised in Adelaide. Before joining Matagarup Zip & Climb, he spent approximately five years gaining valuable experience in the outdoor industry, with roles in the United States, Peru, and Turkey. In his free time, Wubi can often be found hiking and rock climbing around Perth. With his exceptional customer service skills, he ensures that every guest enjoys a memorable experience on each tour. A fun fact about Wubi—he’s known for his impressive bouquet-catching abilities at weddings, although he’s not yet married himself!
Philli
Phili is a creative admin wiz with extensive customer service experience. When not found at our Front Desk or Mini Golf, chances are she’s discovering a new walking trail with a sketchbook in her backpack before taking off to her next camping trip. She is also a fan of all things food, so if you’re in the waiting area for your next tour feel free to ask her for a new recipe.
Hamish
Alexis
This is Alexis. Also known as Lex. She has been with the team before the zipline opened and has been the Duty Manager for the last 2 years. When not on the bridge or training guides, you can find her in the end of an angle grinder, drop saw or hammer drill working on some house project or reno. Lex has a deep connection with her Hungarian heritage, a big passion for reading and cooking, catching sunsets on the beach with her SUP and riding her Honda CBR250R.
